Terms of Service

1. What J-FOMO is

J-FOMO is a calendar of limited-time releases, campaigns and events in Japan ("drops"), compiled from public announcements made by the companies, shops, temples, shrines and venues that run them (the "official sources"). For every drop we show the Japanese title as published, a rendering in the language you choose, the dates and conditions as we understood them, and a link to the official source.

J-FOMO is operated by L Doctor Citizen LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company ("we", "us"). Postal address: 1209 Mountain Road Pl NE, Ste N, Albuquerque, NM 87110, United States.

J-FOMO is an independent, unofficial service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any brand, retailer, franchise, rights holder, temple, shrine or venue that appears on it. All product names, series names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify the drops they refer to.

2. Information, not a promise

• The official announcement is authoritative. Dates, times, prices, quantities, participating stores and conditions are taken from official sources and can change, sell out, be postponed or be cancelled without notice. Always check the linked source before you travel or spend money.
• Translated titles are renderings. Unless marked "official", the title shown in the language you choose is a rendering of the Japanese. The Japanese title is the record; where they differ, the Japanese governs.
• Dates are Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9). "Until sold out", "while stocks last" and similar conditions are shown as conditions, not dates. Some drops are shown at week- or month-level precision because that is all the source states; we do not invent a day.
• Map pins are approximate. Venue positions are geocoded from venue names and may be imprecise; "open now" on the map is based on stated opening hours where we have them and on an assumed, clearly labelled window where we do not.
• We make no warranty that the service is complete, current, accurate or available. It is provided "as is" and "as available".

3. Using the service, with or without an account

• You may use J-FOMO for personal, non-commercial purposes: browsing, planning, and sharing links to J-FOMO pages.
• You may not scrape, bulk-download, mirror or resell the service or its data; remove attributions or source links; interfere with the service; or use it to infringe anyone's rights.
• The calendar and feed files are for your own calendar or reader. Republishing them as a product is not permitted without our agreement.
• Accounts are optional and free. You may create one with your email address to save drops, keep and share trips and, when that feature launches, receive alerts. An account keeps at most twenty trips of its own. There is no password: sign-in is by a link or a code sent to your email, or by your Google account, so keep that email address under your control. Anything done from a browser signed in as you counts as done by you. You must be at least 13 to have an account. We may close an account used to abuse the service, to scrape it, or to harm other readers, and will say why. We may contact you at the account's email about the service itself; product news carries an unsubscribe link.
• Paid features (not yet live). Some features may be offered for a fee — for example a pass for one trip, or a subscription. The price, what it includes, how long it lasts, and the refund rule will be shown on the page where you buy, before you pay, and those terms will apply in addition to these. Payments will be handled by a payment processor; we do not see or store card numbers. Unless the law where you live gives you more, a purchase of a feature that starts immediately is not refundable once you have used it; a purchase you have not used is refundable within 14 days on request.

4. Images, trademarks and takedowns

Images from external sources are displayed by linking to the source's own copy; we do not re-host them unless the source permits it, and each is attributed to its source. Linking is the rule so that readers see the real announcement and rights holders keep control of their material.

Photos from Wikimedia Commons (Wikipedia's image library) are where the source permits it: they are published under licences that allow copies as long as the author and licence are credited. We serve our own copy of each of these, with its author and licence shown beside it, so the pages load reliably.

We do keep a private working copy of the images we link to, in our own archive. It is used only to keep a record of what a source published on a given day and to work out which image belongs to which listing; it is never published, never served to readers and never offered for download. If you are a rights holder and would rather we did not hold a copy at all, tell us and we will delete it.

If you are a rights holder and want an image, title or listing removed or changed, email [email protected] with the page and the material concerned. We review every request promptly.

5. Links, affiliates, advertising and insight

• J-FOMO links to third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing or privacy practices.
• Some links may be affiliate links (for example to proxy-shopping services that ship Japanese goods overseas, or to ticket sellers). If you buy through one, J-FOMO may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked as such, and a commission never changes where a drop appears or how it is ranked.
• J-FOMO may show advertising, including sponsored cards and, in the 3D map, sponsored placements. Ads are labelled "Sponsored". A sponsor never changes where an unsponsored drop appears or how it is ranked.
• Sample or placeholder ads shown during development are labelled as samples.
• We may publish or license aggregate insight drawn from how the service is used — which drops are saved most, which searches find nothing, how interest moves through the year. Aggregate means it describes many people together and identifies no one; an individual's account, saves, searches or trips are never sold or shared. The privacy notice says the same in more detail.

6. Your content

What you save or plan on J-FOMO is yours. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and process it only as far as is needed to run the service for you and to produce the aggregate insight described in section 5, and you can end that licence for any item by removing it, or for everything by deleting your account, at any time. If the service lets you submit anything else (a tip, a correction, a comment), you give us the same licence to use it to operate and improve J-FOMO, you confirm you have the right to submit it, and we may decline or remove it at our discretion.

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, L Doctor Citizen LLC and the people who run J-FOMO are not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of the service or reliance on its information, including travel costs, purchases, missed or sold-out drops, changed dates, or anything on a linked third-party site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the previous twelve months. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Privacy

What the site does and does not know about you is set out in the privacy notice: what an account holds and where it is stored, what the site keeps in your browser, which third parties your browser connects to, and how to delete everything. Privacy requests: [email protected].

9. Changes and termination

We may change the service or these terms at any time; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes will be noted on the site. If you have an account, a material change to these terms or to a paid feature you have bought will also be sent to your email before it takes effect. We may suspend or end the service, or your access to it, at any time; if we end a paid feature early, we refund the unused part. You may leave at any time by deleting your account. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the law of the country you live in.
