What it is
The 'Failure Exhibition' will be co-hosted by Ajinomoto and Marui Group in October 2026. The event will take place on October 13, 2026, at the Marui Group Headquarters. The 'Failure Exhibition' is an event planned by Ajinomoto Group's internal cross-departmental project 'Flags' and was first held in 2025. The mission of the event is to support people who dare to challenge and establish a culture of challenge within the company. It displays illustrations of the 'failures (things that did not go well)' of employees.

The purpose of the 'Failure Exhibition' is to positively perceive the 'failure' behind the challenge, learn from it, and connect it to the next challenge. The first exhibition was held within the Ajinomoto Group, but the second exhibition will be co-hosted with Marui Group, which promotes a culture that accepts failure and encourages challenges. By sharing the failures of both companies, we will create an opportunity to support each other's challenges and connect them to new challenges. The event will include: - Display of Failure Stories: The 'failure stories' collected from employees of Ajinomoto Group and Marui Group will be displayed. Stories that can be laughed at now, things that were boldly attempted but did not go well, and events that made us think that we are where we are today. The failures behind the challenges are expressed with humor. - Space to Send Encouragement for Failures: A space to send encouragement for all the 'failure stories' displayed. Visitors can put a sticker on something that made them laugh, empathize, learn, or gain the courage to challenge, and vote according to their own perspective. - Talk Session by Ajinomoto Group and Marui Group: A program to discuss the culture of 'challenging' that both companies value, based on real examples of how lessons learned from many failures were connected to the next challenge. Ajinomoto Group and Marui Group representatives will talk about how they perceive failure and how they have challenged from it.
